Rising sales from sports betting have prompted Genius Sports to upgrade its guidance for the year.

Total revenue at the British betting data group grew by 17.2 per cent in the first half to $184.1 million, bolstered by a 28.6 per cent rise in sales from its services to gambling operators.

Genius Sports has statistical licensing deals covering hundreds of leagues and organisations. It harvests and sells this data to interested parties, enabling sports betting platforms to offer wagers in real time on everything from how many touchdowns will be scored by a National Football League (NFL) player to which team will kick the game’s longest punt.
