As a BI Analyst, you will work with and contribute to the BI team and other analytical teams in Genius Sports in order to deliver robust BI solutions and value to business. You will be central to making data fit together and converting it into meaningful information. Working closely with our data engineers, you will blend and transform data, create dynamic visualisations and analyse its value.


  • Deliver business value to business functions by leveraging data
  • Maintain strong links to key stakeholders across technical, commercial, finance and operations
  • Promote best practices aligned with business data strategy to wider business users
  • Stay on the ball by keeping up to date with industry trends and best practices
  • Front end BI development adhering to best practice
  • Create and curate analytical datasets
  • Act as a subject matter expert for data visualisation and modelling
  • Uphold best practices of lifecycle management of data products
  • Engaging in QA process of BI Team deliverables
  • Promote self-service BI strategy within the organisation
  • Assist users with developing ad-hoc Power BI reports to support business questions
  • Collaborate closely with teams across the business to deliver cross-functional goals
  • Translate stakeholder requirements to practical deliverables

Required Skills

  • At least three years working knowledge of business intelligence, data analytics and data visualisation
  • Highly capable at using Power BI to develop content:
    • Dataflows
    • Dataset modelling
    • Report generation
    • Power BI administration (ideally within Premium capacity)
  • Strong DAX
  • Strong SQL (ideally with previous exposure to dbt)
  • Working knowledge of relational databases and data warehousing (SQL Server, Snowflake, Redshift etc…)
  • Detail orientated
  • Analytical approach to problem solving
  • Comfortable adapting to changing business situations and priorities while maintaining focus on value delivery
  • Experience within an Agile team and understanding of Agile principles
  • Excellent communication skills

Desirable Skills

  • Python experience ideally with knowledge on data extraction and manipulation
  • GitLab
  • Power Automate and/or Power Apps
  • Passion for sports
  • Dbt / Dbt Cloud
