The Role

The Group Audit Manager is responsible for the planning and coordination of the Group’s statutory audits, working to ensure key financial statement deliverables are completed and filed in a timely manner.

Reporting directly to the Group Financial Director, the Group Audit Manager is a critical role, ensuring:

  • Coordination of audit requests and deliverables
  • The completeness of reporting for public filing purposes
  • The production of accurate, timely group and company financial statements

Key responsibilities

  • Management of annual statutory accounts processes, including coordination of UK and international audit procedures, and the efficient and timely filing of all statutory accounts.
  • Production and review of UK entity financials and management commentary for Financial Statement reporting as required.
  • Point of Contact for internal and external statutory audit stakeholders
  • Production of local accounting standard translation adjustments to be applied to financial data as required,
  • Input of audit and local accounting adjustments into ERP systems
  • Management of the delivery of financial information as part of UK audit requests, liaising with the financial accounting team
  • Planning and coordination of international statutory audits including production of timelines for audits and monitoring of progress
  • Implementation of statutory accounts production software for UK financial reporting
  • Assist in the management of the Group year-end audit/quarter-end review process for the US (NYSE listed) multi-national company, including:
    • Liaising with external auditors
    • Planning the year-end audit timetable
    • Working with wider finance team to co-ordinate audit deliverables (incl. interim requests)
    • Review of audit submissions before sending to auditors

The individual should be an experienced qualified accountant with an appropriate professional accountancy qualification,

The person should demonstrate:

  • Strong leadership, influencing and interpersonal skills.
  • high attention to detail
  • strong technical accounting skills
  • high level organisational skills; critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Experience of Company audit processes
  • strong written and verbal communication skills

Relevant additional experience includes:

  • Experience in production of UK Statutory accounts
  • Knowledge of Workday Financials

This role is also eligible for hybrid working (50% of time in the office and 50% of time at home).
